Jeff “Newt” Newton, age 53, a resident of the Northwoods for 20 years, died Friday, Oct. 7, 2016, in Eagle River, Wis.
He was born May 21, 1963, in Arlington Heights, Ill., to parents Earl and Valerie Newton.
Jeff loved hockey; he was a longtime youth hockey coach. He was loved by everyone.
He was an avid outdoorsman.
Jeff loved his dog, Emma Otter, whom he would take long daily walks with.
Jeff was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his fiancée, Stacey Ray of Eagle River; brother, Jim (Margie) Newton of Lake Villa, Ill.; niece, Taylor Newton; as well as numerous friends.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
