Patricia ‘Pat’ M. Palmer

Patricia ‘“Pat” M. Palmer, 89, a resident of Attic Angels in Madison, Wis., formerly of Keno­sha and Eagle River, Wis., died on Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2016.
She was born on Jan. 26, 1927, in Chicago, Ill., to Joseph S. Klomann and Mary A. (Haggerty) Klomann.
Pat married Glenn Palmer in 1947, who founded Modern Building Materials in Kenosha with his partner, Floyd Cecil.
Pat was a devoted wife for 62 years and loving mother of five.
Pat excelled at knitting, cooking and baking, cards, and fishing. Pat also enjoyed bowling, golf and water skiing, even though she never learned to swim.
She was an active member of St. Matthews Episcopal Church in Kenosha and St. Mary of the Snows in Eagle River.
When photos were taken she loved to make everyone smile with her one, two, three S---. Mainly, Pat loved the time spent with family members and friends.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, William; and sisters, Evelyn Klomann, Lorraine Cagle and Dorothy Uttich.
She is survived by her sister, Lucille Palmer; children, John (Ellen) Palmer of St. Cloud, Minn., Gerald (Kathleen Jordan) Palmer of Waunakee, Wis., Allen (Debbie) Palmer of Long Beach, Miss., Thomas (Kristy) Palmer of Three Lakes, Wis., and Jeanne (Edward) Halash of Northville, Mich.
Pat also is survived by 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016, at St. Mary of the Snows Anglican Church in Eagle River. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Attic Angels Employee Appreciation Fund, 8301 Old Sauk Road, Middleton, WI 53532.

Andrew Kubsch

Andrew Kubsch, of Eagle River, died Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2016, at his home. He was 22.
He was born June 27, 1994, in Rhinelander, to David and Michelle Kubsch.
He was a 2012 graduate of Northland Pines High School in Eagle River.
Mr. Kubsch worked as a trail guide for Elmer’s Fun Park in St. Germain.
He was in the process of joining St. Germain Fire Department.
Mr. Kubsch enjoyed being with family and friends. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time in the outdoors.
He was preceded in death by one grandfather, Jim Croker; and one grandmother, Carol Ann Kubsch.
Mr. Kubsch is survived by his parents, of Eagle River; two brothers, Austin Croker and Nicolas Kubsch, both of Eagle River; one sister, Hailey Kubsch, of Eagle River; one grandmother, Helen Croker, of Eagle River; one grandfather, Al Kubsch, of Ogilvie, Minn.; and other family and friends.
A funeral service will be held Friday, Nov. 4, at 11 a.m., at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Eagle River. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Burial will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Eagle River.

Peder W. Kirkegaard

Peder W. Kirkegaard, 87, of Lake Geneva, Wis., formerly of Gurnee, Ill., and Land O’ Lakes, Wis., died Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2016, at Saint Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wis.
Peder Warmdahl Kirke­gaard was born in Jecksen, Denmark, on March 1, 1929, the son of the late Aksel and Astrid (Warmdahl) Kirke­gaard. He was educated in Denmark.
On Sept. 7, 1956, he was united in marriage to the former Ruth Marie Josephson; she preceded him in death on March 23, 2005.
He was the former owner of several businesses: Wauke­gan Disposal, Fargaard Disposal, Deltas Disposal, John Sisson Disposal, TK City Disposal, BFI, Beach Mobile Home Park and Lakeland Mobile Home Park.
Peder is survived by four children, Kim (Vicky) Kirke­gaard of Pleasant Prairie, Wis., Ingrid Kirkegaard of Lake Geneva, Kathy (Carl) Paglini of Elkhorn, Wis., and Mark (Alison) Kirkegaard of Woodruff, Wis.; four grandchildren, Tracy (Jeff) Waugh, Christopher (Jessica) Sarver, Brian Kirkegaard and Kari Kirkegaard; a great-grandson, Colton Sarver; a sister, Helga Erbou of Hadsten, Denmark; a brother, Ole Kirke­gaard of Waukegan, Ill.; and his beloved companion, Angus, his black Lab.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Aase Friis; and a brother, Jens Jorgen Kirkegaard.
Services for Peder were held Saturday, Oct. 22, 2016, in the chapel of Derrick Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Lake Geneva; Chaplain Jeff Taylor of Calvary Community Church will officiate. Visitation was Friday, Oct. 22, at the funeral home.

Brett Carl Janssen, 47, passed away Oct. 29, 2016.
Brett lived in the North Woods for most of his life. He was born to Robert Johnson and Linda Busch, Feb. 12, 1969, in McHenry, Ill.
Brett attended Northland Pines High School and married Trina Widmann in 1996.
Brett had a fondness for detailing cars, electronics, watching movies and playing games. He absolutely loved hanging around family and friends, and attending car shows. Brett loved photography and he spent a great amount of time taking pictures and chasing storms.
He had a passion for the great outdoors and collecting agates from Lake Superior. Brett loved animals and adopted many furry creatures during his life. Brett was the most detail-oriented, well-organized person you would have ever met.
Brett has touched our lives and so many others in such a powerful way and he will be missed dearly. 
Brett is survived by his wife, Trina; two children, Nathan and Joshua; mother, Linda Busch;  father, Robert Johnson; sister, April Mein­king; brother, Frank (Sara) Hattrem; aunts, Cheslene Kearns and Carol Kiraly; uncle, Carl (Paulette) Janssen; nieces, Jordan and Jenna Meinking, and Lily Hattrem; nephews, Justin Meinking and Carter Hattrem; and one great-nephew, Jaxon Meinking. 
A service to celebrate the life of Brett Carl Janssen was held at Gaffney-Busha Funeral Home on Nov. 2, 2016,  at 10 a.m. at 304 E. Divi­sion St., Eagle River, WI 54521.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Humane Society of Vilas County or The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

Richard Henriksen

Richard Henriksen, a resident of Watersmeet, Mich., since 2001, died Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2016, at his home. He was 68.
He was born June 13, 1948, in Illinois, to Harry and Irene Henriksen.
He married Nancy Clark in Glendale Heights, Ill., in 1985.
Mr. Henriksen graduated from Devry University with a degree in electrical engineering.
He worked at Western Electric and Bell Laboratories in Chicago, Ill., and Naper­ville, Ill., before moving to Michigan.
Mr. Henriksen was involved in the Upper Peninsula Thunder Riders of Watersmeet, Mich., as a past president and groomer.
He was the Watersmeet Township Trustee from 2012-’16.
Mr. Henriksen was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, of Michigan; one son, Patrick (Tammy) Clark of Montana; one grandson; and numerous other family and friends.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, Nov. 2, at 4 p.m. at Gaffney-Busha Funeral Home in Eagle River. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until the time of the service.
Burial will take place Friday, Nov. 4, at 2 p.m. at Mount Emblem Cemetery in Elmhurst, Ill.

George Ellis

George Ellis, a longtime resident of the North Woods, died Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2016, at Phelps Care in Phelps. He was 88.
He was born Aug. 23, 1928, to Fay and Paula Ellis.
Mr. Ellis worked in and was co-owner of a tax preparation and accounting firm, Ellis & Wallock LLC.
Mr. Ellis loved nature, fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed writing newspaper and magazine editorials and writing poetry.
He was a city council member for many years.
Mr. Ellis was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Zimpelmann Wolfe; two children; his parents; and three siblings.
He is survived by one sister, Rosemary Ripple of California; and other children, family and friends.
Private services were held. Gaffney-Busha Funeral Home in Eagle River assisted the family.

Joan May Pfeifer

Joan May Pfeifer, age 90, passed away Nov. 1, 2016, All Saints Day, at Fairhaven Nursing Home, White­water, Wis., with her favorite son* at her side.
Joan was born April 26, 1926, to the late Morten and Mary (Carbon) Tveten.
Joan attended Manitowoc public schools and graduated from Lincoln High School. She attended St. Olaf College where she met Guy Pfeifer, also of Manitowoc, Wis.
He had a great sense of humor and made her laugh. He could sing. She liked his name. So she married him Aug. 30, 1947, at First Lutheran Church in Manitowoc. Guy preceded Joan in death Dec. 28, 2015.
Joan was an active member of First Lutheran becoming director of the Cherub Choir, instructor of the Bethel Bible Series, and soprano in the Chancel Choir where she had trouble hitting the highest notes. She was a home visitor for the MPS Preschool Program.
Mom was also a calligrapher and distributor for the annual Krismus Kollectables ornaments and home décor.
Joan is survived by her five children, favorite son, Guy (Nancy) Pfeifer, Milwaukee, Wis.; favorite daughter, Kristine (Joe) Eisele, Eagle River; James Pfeifer*, see opening paragraph, Atlanta, Ga.; favorite son, John (Sandy) Pfeifer, Austin, Texas; and favorite daughter, Ann (Randy) Holschbach, Whitewater.
She is further survived by her eight grandsons, all favorites, Peter (Liz) Otis, Hans, Christiaan (Shirley), and Nikolaus (Cheri) Pfeifer, Ryan (Vanessa) and Aaron Holsch­bach, and James and David Pfeifer.
She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, nephews and most favorite niece, MaryJo Vollendorf.
The family extends special thanks to the staff at Fair­haven for their tender, loving care of Joan while she resided there. We also thank Nitardy Funeral Home in Whitewater for their compassionate assistance to the family.
Visitation with the family for both Guy and Joan will be at First Lutheran Church, 521 N. 8th Street, Manitowoc, on Thursday, April 27, 2017, with interment at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
“When the evening closes in and you shut your weary eyes, I’ll be there as I have always been with just one more surprise. I was there to hear your borning cry, I’ll be there when you are old. I rejoiced the day you were baptized, to see your life unfold.”

Vernon Johnson

Vernon Johnson, a resident of Green Bay, died Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2016, in De Pere. He was 88.
He was born Nov. 25, 1927, in Rhinelander, to Benhart and Gwendolyn (née Bacon) Johnson.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne infantry division.
Mr. Johnson worked as a truck driver for Liebman Packing and Schneider Transport in Green Bay and had also been a gas truck driver. He drove 3.3 million miles during his career.
Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Patricia Schroeckenthaler; and one stepson, Donald Wilmot.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred of Green Bay; five daughters, Gwendy Johnson of Jackson, Wyo., Verna (Richard) Kurowski of Green Bay, Nancy (Clifford) Evans of Eagle River, Bobby Ziesmer of Green Bay, and Dana (David) Scheel of Green Bay; two sons, Daniel (Harriet) Johnson of Villa Rica, Ga., and Brian Johnson of Green Bay; one stepdaughter-in-law, Barbara Wilmot of Coleman; one sister, Carol (Dale) Klemp of Eagle River; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous other family and friends.
Funeral services were held at Gaffney-Busha Funeral Home in Eagle River.

Mike Dempsey

Mike Dempsey, a resident of Eagle River for 25 years, died Thursday, Nov. 3, 2016, in Eagle River. He was 56.
He was born May 21, 1960, in Fond du Lac, to Edward and Mary Dempsey.
He worked as a roofing contractor for most of his life.
Mr. Dempsey loved fishing and hunting. He loved spending time with his family and dogs.
He was a loyal fan of the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers and  enjoyed watching NASCAR with his friends.
Mr. Dempsey was a union representative in Chicago, Ill. He also was involved with Lions Club and Ducks Unlimited.
He was preceded in death by his mother; and two brothers, Brian, and Patrick.
Mr. Dempsey is survived by his wife of 26 years, Billie of Eagle River; three daughters, Andrea (Christopher) Wiltzius of Madison, Hannah Hunt of Eagle River, and Kelta Jones of Milwaukee; two brothers, Kevin, and Dennis, both of Fond du Lac; two sisters, Mary, and Megan, both of Fond du Lac; one granddaughter; and numerous other family and friends.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, Nov. 10, at 11 a.m. at Gaffney-Busha Funeral Home in Eagle River. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Valerie “Val” Perez, age 56, a resident of the North Woods for five years, formerly of Chicago, Ill., died Friday, Nov. 11, 2016, at her home.
She was born Nov. 19, 1959, in Chicago, to parents Val and Dorothy Church.
Valerie had previously worked at Trig’s and Eagle River Inn.
She enjoyed shopping and fishing. She loved to talk to anyone and everyone. Above all, she loved the time she spent with her grandchildren.
She was a loving mother and an amazing wife.
Val was preceded in death by her brothers, Allen and Rickey.
She is survived by her husband, Jesus Perez of Sugar Camp, Wis.; children, Samantha (Will) Chain of Elmwood Park, Ill., Valerie (Nick) Krein of Sugar Camp, and Jennifer Aldag of Pelican Lake, Wis; parents, Val and Dorothy Church of Eagle River, Wis.; brother, Kevin (Marta) Church of Eagle River; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild and numerous other family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 18, 2016, at Gaffney-Busha Funeral Home in Eagle River. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Eugene ‘Gene’ Kwaterski

Eugene “Gene” Kwaterski, 81, a 26-year resident of Three Lakes, Wis., passed away peacefully on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016, at his home.
Born on Jan. 20, 1935, in West Allis, Wis., Gene was the son of Stanley and Laura Kwaterski.
Gene and his wife of 61 years, Mabel, lived in many areas of Wisconsin where they owned and operated many successful businesses including The Parkway Tavern in Fish Creek, Wis., for six years; Aero Marine in Three Lakes, with brother and sister-in-law, Ed and Arlene, for 13 years; and Kwaterski Millwork in Wausau/Merrill for 10 years.
Gene was also a licensed building contractor in Florida for seven years and loved to do woodworking projects for his family.
He served his country in the U.S. Army where he was stationed in Germany.
Gene also served his “hometown” of Three Lakes as president of the Three Lakes Waterfront Association.
He enjoyed the North Woods by hunting, fishing and boating.
Above all, he enjoyed the time spent with his family. As his family grew up and moved to other areas, Gene would like to keep in touch by sending newspaper articles of his beloved Packers and sending care packages that always included popcorn seeds, of which he was famous for popping up a batch at every family gathering.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents; and 10 brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mabel Kwaterski of Eagle River, Wis.; children, Mike (Karla) Kwaterski of Three Lakes, Ann (Jerry) Jakubowski of Rib Mountain, Wis., Jim (Judie) Kwaterski of Bend, Ore., Teri (Jerry) Denman of Greenville, S.C., Michele Kwaterski of Green­ville; brother, Ed (Arlene) Kwaterski of Three Lakes; sister, Margie Malnory of Jackson, Wis.; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous other family and friends.
A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 18, 2016, at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Three Lakes. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.

Bill Kansfield

Bill Kansfield, a 23-year  resident of Land O’ Lakes and former resident of Tinley Park, Ill., died Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2016, at his home. He was 85.
He was born Sept. 26, 1931, in Hammond, Ind., to William and Vivian Kansfield.
Mr. Kansfield worked as a caretaker for the Clark Estate on Duck Lake for 21 years.
He loved spending time in the North Woods and enjoyed snowmobiling and tinkering and woodworking in his shop.
Mr. Kansfield was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Helene of Land O’ Lakes; seven children, Barbara (Ron) VanRekon of San Clemente, Calif., Lars Kansfield of Oakland, Calif., Cheryl Glavor of Lockport, Ill., Terese McElligott of Brookfield, Ind., Susan (Craig) Cooper of Shelbyville, Tenn., Kurt (Teresa) Hultsch of New Lennox, Ind., and Kris (Erica) Hultsch of Conover; two sisters, Sally, and Marion Clark, both of Hammond, Ind.; 15 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A celebration of life will be held Friday, Nov. 18, from 2 to 4 p.m. at T&M Lanes in Land O’ Lakes.

Debra Lynn “Debbie” Plese, a resident of Eagle River since 1973, died Monday, Nov. 14, 2016, at Ministry Eagle River Memorial Hospital. She was 55.
She was born May 4, 1961, in Watertown, to Clyde and Judy Rolland.
She was a 1979 graduate of Northland Pines High School in Eagle River.
She married Michael Plese Dec. 10, 1983, in Eagle River.
Mrs. Plese was employed by Hahn Printing for more than 10 years, and most recently by John Reid and Associates for 12 years.
She was the treasurer of the Lower Nine Mile Lake Association.
She was actively involved with Relay For Life and Pop Warner youth football.
Mrs. Plese loved watching her daughter play hockey. She also enjoyed reading, making jewelry and cross-stitching. 
She was preceded in death by one son, Michael; her father, Tom McGinnis; one aunt, Pat Sievert; and her grandparents.
Mrs. Plese is survived by her husband, of Eagle River; one daughter, Ali of Madison; her mother, Judy McGinnis of Eagle River; two brothers, Tom (Cathy) McGinnis of Eagle River, and Patrick (Kelly) McGinnis of Chilton; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services and visitation were held Nov. 18 at Gaffney-Busha Funeral Home in Eagle River. Burial was in St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery.

Gertrude ‘Trudy’ H. Ogren

MOUNT HOREB—Gertrude H. (Sealander) Ogren passed away on Nov. 10, 2016.
She was born July 1, 1920, to David and Helen (Sellin) Sealander in Chicago, Ill., where she grew up on Longwood Drive, attended school and completed a year of secretarial studies.
Trudy joined the Women’s Army Auxiliary Corps in Octo­ber 1942 and was posted to London in the Women’s Army Corps in September 1943, assigned to Radar and Plotting duties.
She met and married Pershing (Paul) Ogren of Joliet and Lockport, Ill., in London; they were married April 4, 1944, by Dr. W.E. Sangster at Westminster Central Hall.
After World War II they settled in Lockport; through Dr. Sangster they met Dr. Alan Redpath, pastor of Moody Memorial Church in Chicago, and worshipped there for many years during Dr. Redpath’s ministry. They later worshipped at College Church in Wheaton.
Trudy worked at and retired from Wheaton College Athletic Department.
She was a longtime resident of Eagle River, Wis., before moving to Mount Horeb, Wis.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 2006.
Trudy is survived by her four children, Craig (Carole) of Las Vegas, Nev., David (Mary Alice) of Eagle River, Paul of Morro Bay, Calif., and Gail Glasser of Madison, Wis.; her 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; a good friend in the last years of her life, Jim McComb; and a great many other friends who remember her warmth, her smiles and her great store of mischief.
Her family are very grateful to the capable and caring staff at Ingleside Nursing Home who are certainly among her friends, and the support and care provided by Agrace HospiceCare in Trudy’s final days.
A memorial service is planned for June 2017, in Eagle River.

William Joost

William “Bill” Joost, a resident of St. Germain since 1982, formerly of Park Ridge, Ill., died Monday, Nov. 14, 2016, at his home. He was 74.
He was born Jan. 12, 1942, in Chicago, Ill., to Joseph and Gertrude Joost. 
Mr. Joost worked as an attorney in Park Ridge, Ill., before he moved to St. Germain, where he later opened a practice and continued to work as an attorney. 
He enjoyed fishing, traveling and spending time with his family.
Mr. Joost was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, JoAnn of St. Germain; one daughter, Terri (Troy) Adams of St. Germain; four grandchildren; and numerous other friends and relatives.
A celebration of life and visitation were held Nov. 21 at Gaffney-Busha Funeral Home in Eagle River.

Wallace Everett Hanson

Wallace Everett Hanson, age 94, passed away at Douglas County Hospital in Alexandria, Minn., on Nov. 8, 2016.
Wallace was born on April 12, 1922, near Oylen, Minn., to Eddie and Selma (Pihlstrom) Hanson.
He grew up on the farm near Oylen, then moved to Wisconsin working in Milwaukee, Wis., at a defense plant during World War II.
He met his wife, Delores (Tadyszak), in Milwaukee and they were married in 1954.
They left Milwaukee, moving to Clintonville, Wis., where they owned their own business. Eventually they moved to Eagle River, Wis., where “Wally” worked for the school district until his retirement in 1986.
After Delores passed away he moved to Alexandria in 2002, so he could be near family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Delores; brother, Hilmer Hanson; sister, Leona Gordon and sister Amy Olson.
He is survived by his sister, Irene Bjorhus  (Walter) of Sauk Center, Minn.; and his nieces and nephews.
He will be laid to rest in Eagle River at a later date.

Edgar John Bolte

Edgar John Bolte, a lifelong resident of Eagle River, died Friday, Nov. 18, 2016, at his home. He was 71.
He was born June 9, 1945, in Rhinelander, to George and Helen Bolte.  
He graduated from St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic School in Eagle River in 1959 and Eagle River High School in 1963.  
Mr. Bolte married Jenifer Elizabeth Schiffmann May 1, 1965.  
He worked for Vilas County News-Review, Eagle River Clean Towel Service, Val Kukanich Construction, Klessig Construction and,  most recently, CornerStone Custom Builders.  
Mr. Bolte enjoyed square dancing with his wife, playing baseball, shooting pool and woodworking in his shop.  
He loved spending time with his family and friends.  He enjoyed attending his children and grandchildren’s hockey, baseball and soccer games and dance recitals.
Mr. Bolte was active with building and remodeling for the Eagle River Recreation Association. 
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Donald.
Mr. Bolte is survived by his wife of 51 years, of Eagle River; one daughter, Lisann (Larry) Snedden of Eagle River; three sons, Eric (Kristen) of Eagle River, Jason (Nikki) of Sugar Camp, and Spencer (Tiffany) of Eagle River; two sisters, Sherry (John) Phillips of Hayward, and Margaret (Gerald) Yetter of Eagle River; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; other family and many friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday Nov. 26, at noon at Gaffney-Busha Funeral Home in Eagle River.  Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
Memorials to Ministry’s hospice are appreciated by the family.

Carol Ann Anetsberger, a resident of Conover for 16 years, formerly of Elmhurst, Ill., died Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2016. She was 76.
She was born Nov. 12, 1940, in Chicago, Ill., to Harold and Odelle (née Smith) Robish, Sr.
She married Philip P. Anetsberger Sept. 5, 1959.
Mrs. Anetsberger worked at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital in Elmhurst, Ill., Cardiac Surgery Associates in Chicago, Ill., and later at Midwest Tungsten Service in Willowbrook, Ill.
She retired to Conover with her husband. She enjoyed painting, reading, gardening and fishing.
Mrs. Anetsberger was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Eagle River and sang in the choir.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Harold.
Mrs. Anetsberger is survived by her husband; one son, Kevin (Nancy) of Burr Ridge, Ill.; two daughters, Kathleen (Karl) Boehm of Conover, and Kelly (Steve) Pennington of Eagle River; one sister, Donna Rahmig of Danville, Ky.; eight grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and other family and friends.
A funeral service was held Friday, Nov. 18, at Christ Lutheran Church.
Memorials to the American Lung Association or Christ Lutheran Church are appreciated by the family.

Henry ‘Hank’ Zinsmeister

Henry “Hank” Zinsmeister, age 88, a resident of Three Lakes, Wis., formerly of Brookfield, Wis., died Monday, Nov. 21, 2016, in Rhinelander, Wis.
He was born Dec. 13, 1927, in Milwaukee, Wis., to parents Henry and Mathilda Zinsmeister.
Hank owned and operated Hanks Refrigeration in Three Lakes from 1984-2002. Prior to that he worked in HVAC both in Milwaukee and Brookfield.  He lived, ate and slept his trade.
Henry was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish and hunt. Above all he enjoyed the time spent with his family.
He was a member of the American Legion in Three Lakes and the Steamfitters Local No. 601.
Henry was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley, in 2003; brother, Harold; and sister, Dorothy.
He is survived by his daughter, Kim (Steve Higgins) Zinsmeister of Three Lakes; grandchildren, Aaron (Tiffany Von Bober) Schuett, Alonna (Adam Boers) Herche, and Brandon Berg; two great- grandchildren; and numerous other family and friends.
A private service has already been held.

Nathan James Seifert

Nathan James Sei­fert, 32, formerly of Eagle River, Wis., passed away unexpectedly  in Detroit, Mich., on Nov. 10, 2016.
Nathan was born on Oct. 22, 1984, in Rhinelander, Wis., to Jack L. Seifert and Leslie P. (Hancock) Seifert.
He grew up in Eagle River and in Eldon, Mo., graduating from Eldon High School in 2003 with a certificate in Graphic Design from Tri-County Technical School.
After graduation Nathan joined his father, Jack Seifert, in Baraboo, Wis., working for Seifert’s Field and Forest.  Nathan obtained his National Wildland Fire Fighter Certification at the level of a Fire Fighter II/Squad Boss through the National Wildfire Coordinating Group (NWCG).  He worked completing prescribed burns, tree care and prairie restoration projects across multiple states.
Later he moved to North Carolina, obtaining further certifications, where Nathan continued his work in the outdoors with a career shift to commercial and residential landscaping.
Nathan loved working outdoors and continued with his focus on environmental work installing solar panel fields across the Midwest and East Coast.
He enjoyed spending his time outdoors fishing, hunting and camping with friends and family.
Nathan’s spiritual faith was very important to him.
He is remembered by all of his friends and family for his big smile and kind heart, which he displayed throughout his life.
As a loving uncle, Nathan will be greatly missed by his nephew and niece.
Nathan was preceded in death by his grandfather, James W. Seifert of Eagle River; grandmother, Iris Seifert of Eagle River, and grandmother, Betty Hancock of Bozeman, Mont.; and infant sister, Hope Seifert of Eagle River.
He is survived by his father, Jack Seifert (special friend Nancy) of Key Largo, Fla.; his mother, Leslie P. (Hancock) Seifert of Holts Summit, Mo.; his sister, Brooke (Jason) Seifert Hew­itt of Holts Summit, Mo.; and his nephew, Zachary Hewitt, and niece, Hannah Hewitt;  his granddad, A.J. Hancock of Boze­man; and by many aunts, uncles and cousins who loved him dearly.
Funeral services will be under the direction of Gaffney-Busha Funeral Home in Eagle River.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Dec. 2, 2016, at Eagle River Cemetery followed by a gathering of friends and family at Eagle River Inn, Eagle River, at 12:30 p.m.
